A poem on acid attck

Here is my 1st try at a poem. This poem is based on acid attacks and dedicated to all the acid attack survivors out there.

What a shocking moment it was for her,
when a stranger proposed her for marriage,
though she didn't feel anything for him,
she politely rejected his proposal,
but what she did'nt know was a storm that was awaiting her,
the very next day,
he threw acid on her face,
spoiling her entire face,

and later to be found laying at a hospital bed after hours of surgery,
thoughts started looding her mind,
'was this his love?',
'was his ego more important than love?',
and so does the other thoughts occupied her mind,
months and years went by struggling,
struggling through physical pains,
through the comments of society and the fake sympathy,
depression chased her,
negativity chased her,
but with support of family and friends,
she slowly learned to accept and love the new look of her,
and then there was nothing stopping her,
she chased her forgotten dreams once again,
achieving them after lots of struggle,
and emerged as a survivor,
as a fighter,
as a winner,
as a role model,
as a speaker,
and what she would speak would put heads down of all those acid attackers in embarrassment.
that she was not only a victim,
but a survivor,
that he ruined her looks,
but not her heart and mind,
that he was not a stud,
but a coward,
a coward who could not handle rejections,
a coward who threw acid to heal his bruised ego,
a coward who could be possible rapist,
and at last, thanking him to put her through this,
make her struggle and put challenges in front of her,
to make her come stronger than she was ever before.

I think in India and worldwide, boys and men should be taught to accept and deal with rejections. They should be taught to respect a girl's decision for denying his proposal (and should not throw acid on her on any other context too) and not hurt her, to keep their 'ego' in check, etc.

P.S: I know there gonna be mistakes like rhyming as I have written it in 1 go. Looking forward to your positive/negative feedback.
