Few things about me

Hey, I'm Ritika. Nicknamed as Ritz by my friends (name does sound cool). Here are a few things about me-
Tomboy- I'm a total tomboy. I love casuals, I really hate to wear make-up, and dislike wearing girly clothes and traditional dresses.
Hobbies and passion- I love reading, writing, traveling (mostly beaches) and I really like football.
Against superstitions, orthodoxy, stereotypes, and narrow-mindedness- I'm completely against superstitions, stereotypes, narrow-minded mentality, etc.
Sarcastic and funny- I'm quite sarcastic and funny. So I would even post funny or sarcastic blogs sometimes.

So my post of the blogs would revolve around tomboy, traveling, writing, reading, football, and against orthodoxy, narrow-mindedness, superstitions & stereotypes. I would write about even various other topics like feminism, self-defense, and quite various other things. I may even write about the most asked topics. If I write about the most asked topic or a topic I like about the topic/ question I get, I would keep the name of the sender anonymous.

Clicked by - Aarti Yadav My former friend introduced me to the habit of reading. When I was around 9 years old, she would bring encyclopedias for us to read. We read the encyclopedias at either our homes or the society terrace. Encyclopedias on various subjects brought us together- we would read and discuss various facts and information. In some ways, reading encyclopedias gave us a sense of acceptance in each other, which we both kind of desired, from society (I would be ridiculed for stammering and she was socially excluded due to her half-Chinese heritage). Seeing my interest, even my parents agreed to buy me encyclopedias to read, all of which I have kept safely even after 12-13 years. Encyclopedias somewhere even gave me my first friend of life, even though the friendship didn't last long. How can 70hrs work week affect several aspects of life?

Undoubtedly, this las led to debate among the citizens who favours the statement and also contending against it. Hustle culture is already on rise and this adds fuel to the fire, glorifying burn-out. Viewing this statement in respect to working professionally for a company, especially a job, has a lot of side effects. New lifestyle in urban areas and top-tier cities has already disposed younger population to various health concerns, and working for so long would only accelerate the possibilities of it. No doubt why people in their 30s and 40s are suffering cardiac arrest and pass away at such a young age. Diabetes, PCOS, stroke and other cardiac problems are on the rise too. On this woman's day, here is my message to all the girls and ladies. Be yourself. Live your life your way. Take your own decisions which makes you happy and take responsibility of it too. Be carefree of the society's judgements. The person who will be with you always is you. So give yourself loads of self-love.  Do not take any decision under force. Wear (or not) whatever you wish to, be financially independent or a home-maker (just let the groom know before getting married, if you CHOOSE to marry), with make-up or without make-up, being a virgin till marriage or not, to choose to be a mother or not, carrying the pregnancy till term or aborting it (as long as it isn't gender biased), travelling the world or cozing out at home, and so many other things! Cancel culture getting out of hand: End of creative careers?

Image Source - Vox Cancel culture, a term thats getting quite frequently implemented upon this days.  Be it a new book or authors, blogs, movie/series or part of it, stand-up comedy or anything form of art or expression, cancel culture always comes to show its ugly face to boycott or censor something. Even if the art or content piece is not offensive or spreading any kind of hate in any way, people get offended at slightest of things and ask for boycotts. This makes me wonder- if this continues, will this bring a end to creative careers? No professional in creative careers will want to be threatened of their or their family's safety, abuses, or threats of boycott over something that doesn't even spread hate.
